All good things must come to an end
Hey Folks
Jimbo here. Many of you have probably heard that I am currently in Alberta and that at the end of the summer I will be heading to South Korea for a year. Although this opportunity is friggin amazing, unfortunately it means that I have to leave Kevala.
I have talked it over with the other guys and I'm pretty sure they understand my situation. We had a final rehearsal last week and just jammed out the songs one last time (for me anyway). It was awesome to have that one last chance without the pressures of an upcoming show or recording.
It has been an honour to make music with Mark, Darren, Steve and Roop. These four guys are really unbelievable and all have unique styles and philosophies that have rubbed off on me. I can say with confidence that the music I made with Kevala was the most engaging, sohisticated and pleasing music that I've ever been a part of. It was great to play with Darren and Mark for a year and a half and Steve and Roop for about five years.
I hope to maintain a relationship with Kevala in the future. I will definitely be their biggest spokesperson because I think the four of them are truly blessed. In fact, a few times over the past year we all felt that the music was a little too cluttered and heavy. Perhaps my departure will open it up a little bit and provide more space. I know that Kevala has clear and definite goals and hopefully as a foursome they will be able to achieve them.
I wish you guys all the best and thanks for ignoring my wrong notes
