Snakes On Crack (a post-show post)

Whatup whatup whatup

It's been a while since I posted... we've all been pretty busy. Busy's another word for lazy. On Saturday, we played our "gig" at Sky Dome (some foolish folk may call it Rogers Centre, but I refuse) for the Argo's. Going into the gig, we were pretty pumped. We hadn't played in a while, and there was lots of potential for the gig to be a great one.

But as Abraham Lincoln once said, "shit happens". When we arrived, and scoped out our location at Gate 6, the clouds were already looming overhead, as if they were daring us to go ahead and set up. We did. We also soon discovered that there was in fact no electricity coming out of the power outlets that we were provided with. Eventually, we got to a point when we were completely set up, and were simply waiting for the power to get fixed. It hadn't really rained up to this point, except for the occasional and momentary spitting.

We eventually got the power 10 minutes before we were supposed to start, which - needless to say - isn't enough time. Madness ensued, and eventually we got to playing. Then it started to lightly rain. Yay. Long story short, we ended up playing 5 songs before wrapping it up, due to fear of damaging equipment or us getting fried.

The crappy part is that there were LOTS of people there, and they seemed to really be enjoying our music. And, we were playing pretty well too, and Bram Cayne sound-man extraordinaire was apparently doing a great job at the board as well. So, it could have been fantastic if it hadn't rained.

Oh well, we had a lot of fun while it lasted, and we thank anyone and everyone who came out just to hear us.

Thanks for the reminder anonymous. Last Thursday night (the night before opening day), we saw Snakes on a Plane, at a special 10pm showing, after months and months of anticipation. It was pretty much the best movie ever. Although the theatre wasn't sold out, which was shockingly dissapointing. Highlights include Sam Jackson harpooning a snake, and "I've had it with these mother ****ing snakes on this mother ****ing plane!" of course. No Roop, this is a family-friendly blog.

Everyone should see this movie, immediately. Drop what you're doing right now, and go see it. It'll change your life, I swear.
